The mythical Phoenix, holds great meaning in both western and Chinese cultures.
In the western world, the phoenix is seen as a symbol of resurrection, new life, and renewal. To the Chinese, the phoenix is often seen with the dragon at weddings, to symbolize the union of male and female, but I like to think it's not confined to weddings, but they are a sign of harmony and prosperity.
For such a meaningful creature, I wanted to use ruby, as it reminds me of passion, be it of love, or in life. Softened with white, freshwater pearls, as well as a little group of stones (aquamarine, apatite, citrine and pearl), as well as a sweet, mother of pearl carved flower.
On full 14k gold filled chain and wires.
Just so it looks pretty from the back too, I used little ruby rondelles.
A dainty, feminine necklace for any occasion.
Necklace measures 16 inches long, with a 1.5inch extension.
One of a kind.
