Sakura earrings were inspired by... you guessed right! Sakura flowers! :) It was the first time in my life I had ever seen them and outwardly I was calm, but inwardly, I was overjoyed!
The first sighting was nowhere near downtown Osaka, but at the park surrounding Osaka Castle. It was lined on both sides with the beautiful pink blooms. We counted ourselves lucky to have caught them because the sakura bloomed earlier this year, and we thought that they would be gone by the time we arrived.
Locals and tourists alike were enjoying the beginnings of the warm weather, placing mats on the grass and enjoying picnics, or just chatting with each other. We all had one thing in common, we all had smiles on our faces. It was wonderful.
Sakura features gorgeous, smooth, plump rose quartz briolettes as well as pink topaz onion briolettes and ombre shades of pink sapphire that I have been hoarding for awhile. Unfortunately, prices of gemstones just keeps rising as the years go on, but I really felt that I had to use them for this pair.
